Swim, Arline J. (4 APR 1931 - 8 SEP 1931)

Arline Joyce, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harley E. Swim, passed away at her home here at 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 8, 1931, of Spina Bifida.

Arline was born in this condition. The expert care administered by her mother and Mrs. John Hickman was the only thing which prolonged her life to the age of 5 months and 4 days. She was on the gain until Saturday, Sept. 5th, 1931, at which time infection set in. Her condition grew worse until death relieved her of suffering the 4th day.

She leaves to mourn her death her father and mother, 2 brothers, Harley Eugene, Jr., and Ellery Richard, and one sister, Dawn Elaine.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, Sept. 10th, at the M.E. Church. Rev. James Irish preached a very comforting sermon, the text being :The Lord has Given and The Lord has Taken Away."

The hymns sang by the choir were "Jesus is Calling," Beautiful Beckoning Hands," and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus." Interment followed the services in the village cemetery.
