Schoolman, Albert (1 Nov. 1865 - 3 Feb. 1941)

Albert Schoolman passed away at the Vinton Nursing Home Monday, February 3, where he had been a patient for almost a year. Prior to coming to Neillsville he had lived for many years on a farm near Loyal until it was no longer possible for him to live alone.

He is survived by a niece, who lives at Spence, and by a brother and a sister in Iowa.

Funeral arrangements had not been completed up to Wednesday noon, local authorities awaiting a call from relatives.

Funeral services for Albert Schoolman were held at the Lowe Funeral Home Saturday, February 9, at 2 p.m., Rev. Wilson Bixler officiating. Burial was made in the Neillsville Cemetery.

Mr. Schoolman was born in Germany November 1, 1865. He came to the United States with his parents, three brothers and three sisters in 1881, settling in Charlotte, Iowa. Albert spent several years at various occupations. He purchased a farm near Loyal in 1914 where he lived until March, 1940, when his health no longer permitted him to live alone. He passed away at the Vinton Nursing home February 3, at the age of 75 years, three months and two days.

Surviving are a brother and three sisters, William Schoolman and Anna Megger, Charlotte, Ia., Miss Jennie Schoolman, Hopkins, Minn., and Mrs. John Jurgesen, Andrew, Iowa; also several nieces and nephews. Two brothers John and Lincoln preceded him in death.
