Rogalski, Jacqueline Joyce (29 Apr 1975)

Jacqueline Joyce Rogalski and Dennis Vernon Lee were married at 2 p.m. April 19, 1975 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Thorp, with the Rev. Robert W. Olson officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry E. Rogalski, 200 E. Grant, Thorp, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon L. Lee, Route 5, Chippewa Falls.

Music during the ceremony was provided by Dan Raflek of Stevens Point, Barbara Rogalski of Thorp was her sister’s maid of honor, with Debra Sommerfeld, sister of the Groom, Loring Maine, Debra Stange, Eau Claire, Mary Jane Troyer, Stanley, Diane Olejniczak (cousin of the bride of Racine) and Karen Norysewicz (Cousin of the bride, Chicago), as bridesmaids.

The best man was John Stange, Eau Claire. Groomsmen were Ace Sommerfeld, brother-in-law of the groom, Loring, Maine, Allen Stouff, Thorp, and Craig and Dale Olejniczak, cousins of the bride, Racine. Robert Olejniczak, uncle of the bride, Racine, and Richard Norman, Eau Claire, were ushers.

A reception for 200 guests was held at the American Legion Hall, Thorp.

The bride is a graduate of Thorp High School, and is employed by Thorp Finance Corporation as a key punch operator. Her husband graduated from Eau Claire Memorial High School and Wisconsin State University, Eau Claire. He is employed as a press man at Lee’s Printing Post.

Following a wedding trip to Florida the couple will live at 203 N. Lincoln, Thorp.

Bio: Bogdonovich, Richard A. – Injured in Motorcycle Accident (3 May 1975)

On May 3, 1975 Richard A. Bogdonovich of Greenwood was very seriously injured when involved in a motorcycle accident at 6:30 p.m. on a town road in the Town of Seif. Details on how it happened are not known. He was taken to Memorial Hospital, Neillsville, and then transferred to St. Joseph’s in Marshfield.

The girls toured the fashion district as part of the Fashion Merchandising program offered at District One Technical Institute, Eau Claire.

Przybylski, Mike & Mary (Gold – 3 May 1975)

Mr. and Mrs. Mike Przybylski celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary Saturday, May 3, 1975 with a 7p.m. supper at the VFW Hall, Route 6, Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.

The bride of 50 years ago greeted her guests wearing a green and gold dress with a carnation corsage, gift from her son David and family. A red carnation was worn in the lapel of Mr. Przybylski’s coat.

Miss Sandra Przybylski, granddaughter, and a friend, Joan Anderl (?), pinned on the gold leaves and were in charge of the guest book.

The former Mary Gwiazda and Mike Przybylski were married on May 3, 1925 at St. Joseph’s Church in Chicago. The attendants of the couple were Ida Sluzewski (now deceased) and Julian Przybylski (not present).

The couple spent the first five years of their married life in Chicago, moving out on the home farm north of Thorp, where they farmed for forty years, and in 1969 they retired, moving to Chippewa Falls.

They have three children, Clarence of Chippewa Falls, David of Babbitt, Minnesota, Mrs. Leonard (Bernice) Wisniewski, of Gilman; seven grandchildren, Dominic, Dale, Geraldine, Roy, Sandra, Jeffery and Lisa, and one great-granddaughter, Sheila.

Served at the reception were 125 guests from Babbitt and Ely, Minnesota, Burlington, Iowa, Wausau, Thorp, Gilman, Stanley, Lublin, Holcombe and Chippewa Falls.

The Thorp Chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America proudly announces the election of Melanie Polnaszek as the state reporter for the Wisconsin Future Business Leaders of America Chapter.

Melanie and 12 other candidates from throughout the state prepared a resume and biographical sketch, which was sent to the 130 chapters in the state of Wisconsin. Every FBLA chapter was allowed 2 votes towards the election of the new state reporter.

Melanie is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Polnaszek of Thorp, Wisconsin.

Butterfield, Roscoe L. (3 Apr 1902 – 4 May 1975)

Roscoe L. Butterfield, 73, of route 4, Hayward, died Sunday, May 4, 1975 at the Hayward Area Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held at the Anderson Funeral Chapel at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 1975. The Rev. Joseph H. Jenkins, Cable, officiated. Interment was in the Spider Lake Cemetery.

He was born April 3, 1903 in Aniwa, and at the age of five moved with his parents to Thorp, where he attended schools. While a young man he entered the drilling business with his father at Thorp, and later the saw mill business. He moved to the Moose Lake area in Sawyer County in 1934, and began a logging and saw mill operation there. In 1947 he stated his own well drilling operation, a business he operated until his retirement.

Besides his wife, he is survived by five sons, Keith, Beloit, Lloyd and Thomas, Hayward, Forrest, Stout University, Menominee, and Roscoe C., Denver Colorado; four daughters, Mrs. Duane (Lois) Jacobson, Waukesha, Mrs. Donald (Janet) Klemme, Sheboygan, Mrs. Thomas (Joyce) Baurain, Garland, Texas, and Mrs. Gary (Kathryn) Bailey, Grand Rapids, Minnesota; 14 grandchildren, 2 brothers, Lester, Thorp, and Claude, Santos, California, and two sisters, Mrs. Edythe, Robinson, Chula Vista, California, and Mrs. Lillian Zell, Bellefontaine, Ohio.

Katherine Smitke, 86, formerly of Thorp, passed away Sunday, May 21, 1975 at Park Point Nursing Home, Duluth, Minnesota.

Funeral services will be Thursday morning, 10:00 a.m., at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Thorp.
