Huckstead, Ruth Margaret (Marriage - 1941)

Mr. and Mrs. Jess Scott and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Huckstead arranged a six o’clock dinner for Mr. and Mrs. William A. Braun, who were united in marriage at Manitowoc that morning.

Dinner was served at the Scott home where, the couple stopped for a few hours on their wedding trip to the northern part of the state. The out of town guests were; Mrs. Laura Campbell, Black River Falls, and Miss Mildred Feile, Manitowoc.

Mrs. Braun was the former, Miss Ruth Margaret Huckstead. She was born at the Reed homestead at Pleasant Ridge, the farm home which now is in the hands of a member of the third generation, Harold Huckstead, and family. Miss Huckstead attended the Reed school and the Neillsville high school, later enrolling at the University of Wisconsin. After the first half of her junior year, Miss Huckstead came home to keep house for her brother and to care for his children, Mrs. Huckstead having passed away. Later her parents moved back to the farm, again leaving Miss Huckstead free to continue her school work, which she took up and completed after a period of service in the office of the county agent of Clark County.

For the past several years she had been located in Richland and Manitowoc counties, serving as home demonstration agent in each of these counties. She plans to continue her work in the latter county until the expiration of her contract. Mr. Braun serves the same county as a traffic police officer. They will make their home in Manitowoc.
