Wahlen, Nellie (Marriage - 21 Sept. 1941)

Miss Nellie Wahlen and Walter Junchen, both of Neillsville, were united in marriage Sunday, Sept. 21, at the parsonage of Rev. J. G. Buth, Granton. The single ring ceremony was performed at two p.m., the couple being attended by the bride’s sister, Miss Irma Wahlen, who was dressed in wine colored velveteen with white accessories and a corsage of yellow roses. Harold Junchen, a brother of the groom, acted as best man.

The bride was dressed in blue velveteen with white accessories and a corsage of pink roses and babsybreath.

After the ceremony a reception which was attended by 49 relatives and friends, was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Wahlen in the Town of Washburn, followed by a wedding supper. The floral decorations in the home were arranged by Mrs. Richard Albrecht.

Mrs. Junchen has held the position of clerk in the office of the Clark County agent for several years, her husband working as a truck driver for Otto Hainz. They are pleasing young people, popular among a large circle of friends, energetic and thorough in their work.

The couple left on a few days wedding trip to Chicago, their plans for the future being indefinite.

Guests at the wedding were: Rev. and Mrs. J. G. Buth and daughter, Lydia, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Braatz and family, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Braatz and Miss Norma Schmoll, all of Granton; Lawrence Junchen, Sherrard, Ill.; Lucy Ditto, Keithburg, Ill.; Joe Arnold and Mrs. Anna Youngchild and daughters, Nekoosa; Werner Stauffer and son, Deerfield; Mr. and Mrs. Jake Henesler, Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. Jake Henseler, Jr., and family, Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. John E. Horeb; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Pagenkopf and family, Marian Counsell, Gertrude Walk, Mrs. William Otto, and Mrs. Irvin Stevens, all of Neillsville, Wis.
