McClaflin, Ernest S. (13 FEB 1879 - 19 JAN 1937)

E. S. McClaflin, who was taken to an Eau Claire hospital two weeks ago, suffering with pneumonia, died at 10 o’clock Tuesday evening, Jan. 19th. The remains were brought to M. Kretschmer’s funeral parlors on Wednesday, and funeral services were held at the Methodist church Friday afternoon, the Rev. Floyd Fahlgren officiating, with large congregation of friends present. Burial was in Houghtonburg cemetery.

Ernest Sylvester McClaflin was one of six children, two having preceded him in death. He was born in Humbird, on Feb.13, 1879, and lived all his life in this community. He was united in marriage to Miss Naomi Stanley, on Sept. 25, 1898. They lived in the village for a year, then moved onto the farm, which has been their home since. To them were born three sons: Cecil, of Roscoe, Ill.; Norman, of Eau Claire; and Farron, at home.

Mourning his death are his wife, three sons, one sister, Mrs. Sadie Creviston, of Humbird; two brothers, Gardner and Warren McClaflin, of Newburg, Oregon; three grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. Mr. McClaflin attained the age of 57 Years, 11 months and 6 days.

Mrs. Naomi McClaflin and sons express their most heartfelt gratitude to all friends who assisted them in every way during their bereavement, and also wish to sincerely thank all who remembered them while they were at the hospital.
