Local Happenings

Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Short spent Sunday in Eau Claire with their daughters, Mrs. Don Sherwood, and family.

Wayland Waters left Tuesday forenoon for Madelia, Minn., to help in his uncle’s, Harry Zimmerman’s store for a while.

Mrs. LeCaptain and daughter visited with friends at Rice Lake over the weekend. They made the trip with Miss Peterson, who went to her home.

Mrs. R. F. Willman, daughter June, sons Robert and Ronald, and Berdine Bigelow were visitors over the weekend with Chester Willman and family, in Minneapolis.

W. F Hein is driving a fine new 1938 model limousine on his mail route.

Mrs. F. Jenswold spent a few days in Altoona and Eau Claire last week.

Mrs. June Duerkop, of Eau Claire, came home Thursday evening to be present at her brother’s wedding. She returned Sunday.

A. F. Simons, town treasurer, completed the tax collection Tuesday. About three fourths of the total tax is paid, a better record than at first thought would be made. A dozen or more took advantage of the partial extension granted.

Our folks are awaiting word from relatives and friends in the inundated sections about Los Angeles, Calif. Among former residents in that city are several of the Frank Leonard family, the Math Eppich family, cousins of James Campbell, and D. M. McCormick and son, formerly of Merrillan.
