Preston, Viola Irene (Marriage - 25 Feb. 1939)

Miss Viola Irene Preston, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Preston of Hixton, and Roy Duby, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Duby, well known young man of the town of Cleveland, were united in marriage at the Evangelical Lutheran Church at Black River Falls on Feb. 25, 1939, at 3:00 o’clock in the afternoon. Rev. A. M. Romstad performed the ceremony.

The bride wore a teal blue dress with matching accessories, and a gold locket and bracelet, the bracelet being one which was born by the bride’s mother at her wedding twenty-five years ago. She wore a shoulder corsage of American beauty roses and sweet peas.

Attending the bride was the groom’s cousin, Miss Dorothy Crave, who wore a rose dress with matching accessories and a shoulder corsage of Talisman roses and sweet peas. The groom was at tended by Norman Anderson, also of Cleveland. Both wore grayish green suits, the groom having an American beauty rose and his attendant a Talisman rose boutonnieres.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents and a bountiful wedding supper served. Guest were Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Duby and Rodney, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Stanley and family, of Humbird, and Mr. and Mrs. Ross Ball, of Black River Falls. Lillian and Vernice, younger sister and brother of the bride were also present.

For the past three years the bride has been employed at the home of Dr. Robert Krohn in Black River Falls, and has many friends there, who wish her much happiness. The groom has been employed with the Northern Stats Power Co., but as present is employed on af arm in Cleveland, where they will make their home.

In the evening a wedding dance was held in the town hall in this village, and was attended by a large number of friends and relatives of the bride and groom, who wish them a long and happy married life.
