Mrs. Brandstedter and Miss Zella spent the holiday week at home. They went to Eau Claire Sunday afternoon and will leave from there Friday, accompanied by Miss Graves, for Chicago Heights for their school work. Mrs. Brandstedter will go to the city and remain until Easter.

Mrs. Ellen Cole has received word of the death of a brother-in-law, Robert Roddy, who died at his home in Randolph Sunday, after a long illness. The funeral is to be held at Randolph this Thursday. Mrs. Cole is unable to attend, but her son Willard, and Geo. And Frank Adams of Alma Center, plan to attend.

Auto accidents have been numerous, owing to the slippery concrete. Last Thursday afternoon as Miss Zella Brandstedter stopped her car at the arterial, it was crashed by a car from Eau Claire that was brining Mrs. G. E. Stanley to this village. Sunday afternoon, while on the way to Augusta, Rev. Wolfe had an accident that badly damaged his car, when he and another fellow were cutting figures on the ice. The ministerial care was smashed, but like the fighter, who replied, "You ought to see the other fellow!" Hon. P. A. Hemmy will no doubt try to keep the ship of state on an even keel at Madison, but Sunday afternoon while on the way home from Falls with a carload of folks, the new Chevy coach get the upper hand and turned turtle east of town. No injuries are reported.
