Brandstedter, George John (2 March 1908 - 24 Jan. 1936)

George John Brandstedter, oldest son of Mrs. Regina Brandstedter, died quite suddenly last Friday afternoon, at 1:00 o’clock, at the home farm in Fairview. He was taken ill with pneumonia on Wednesday, Jan. 15th, the right lung being infected. Pleurisy developed, and on Wednesday of last week the infection spread to the left lung. His heart was too weak to withstand the disease, and death ensued at the hour noted.

Mr. Brandstedter was born on the farm where he spent his entire span of life, on March 2nd, 1908, and passed away Jan. 24th, 1936, at the age of 27 years, 10 months and 22 days.

Funeral services were held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Fairview, Monday, Jan. 27th at 10:00 o’clock. He was laid to rest in St. Joseph’s Cemetery beside his father, who preceded him in death twenty-four years ago, on Jan. 13, 1912.

Surviving relatives are his mother, Mrs. Regina Brandstedter, one brother, Clarence, at home, and two sisters, Mrs. Ted Mayer and Mrs. Joseph Mayer, both residing in Fairview vicinity. He is also mourned by one niece, three nephews, his grandmother, Mrs. Veronica Zingsheim, and a host of other relatives and friends.
