NEILLSVILLE -- Janet Meier, age 78, of Neillsville, died on Friday, March 2, 2007, at the Memorial Health and Rehabilitation Center in Neillsville, Wis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Neillsville, Wis. The Very Reverend Woodrow H. Pace will be the celebrant. Providing music will be Ronald Resong, organist, St. Mary's Choir and Rita Kuchenbecker.

Serving as Casket Bearers will be Robby Roehl, Chad Erickson, Chris Weber, Brian Erickson, Adam Erickson and Aaron Gorst.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a 7:30 p.m. Prayer Service, Monday at the Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, Wis.

Janet Marie Meier was born on Feb. 18, 1929, the daughter of Michael and Susan (Smollen) Rosandich in the town of Lynn, Clark County. She attended school in Granton. She was united in marriage to James Erickson on June 22, 1946, in Bakerville. They farmed in Neillsville for a short while and then moved to the town of Lynn where they farmed and in 1954 to Wood County, where they also farmed. Janet and James were divorced in 1973 and Janet moved to the town of Pine Valley. James died on July 26, 1988. On May 3, 1975, she married Charles Meier and they farmed southeast of Neillsville, Wis. They retired in August of 1990 and moved into the city of Neillsville in October of 1992. Charlie died on Jan. 18, 1995.

Janet was a member of TOPS since 1992. She enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, especially flowers, babysitting her grandchildren and taking walks.

She is survived by her children, Larry (Anna) Erickson and Linda (Jose E.) Rodriguez, both of Neillsville, Dennis (Ruth) Erickson of Spencer, Sandy (Sandy Bickle) Erickson of Wausau, Karen (Ralph) Weber, Gary (Donna) Erickson, James (Agnes) Erickson and Kevin (Jenny) Erickson, all of Neillsville; 24 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Janet is also survived by four stepchildren, Pat (John) Iwaszszenko of Stratford, Jane (Doug) Zank, Irene (Gene) Hohenstein, both of Neillsville, and Charles (Debra) Meier of Baraboo; 13 stepgrandchildren and 16 stepgreat-grandchildren. She is further survived by a brother, Anton (Mary) Rosandich of Eau Claire.

Janet was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie; her husband, Charles Meier; sisters, Mary Paun, Ann Donahue, Margaret Billy, Helen Janis, Rose Langan, Elsie Linzmeier; her brothers, Martin Rosandich and Louis Rosandich; and her ex-husband, James Erickson.
