Mews, Delores Lorene (Marriage - 26 May 1951)

Trinity Lutheran Church in Unity was the scene last Saturday afternoon of the wedding of Miss Delores Lorene Mews, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Mews, Unity, and Erwin R. Sherman, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Standing before the altar, which was decorated with twin bouquets of white flowers and tapers in branch candlebra, the couple exchanged vows before the Rev. Charles Witt, Marshfield. Mrs. Walter Wieland played the wedding marches and provided the accompaniment for Miss Helen Djerf and Miss Arlene Gustafson, who sang, "I Love You Truly" and "O Perfect Love."

Presented in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of white satin and a finger-tip veil, lace-edged, caught to a pearl coronet. Her gown was styled with an upstanding collar encircling a V neckline, long, pointed sleeves, and a satin peplum bordered with French lace. She carried a bouquet of calla lilies, swansonia, and lilies of the valley, centered with an orchid.

Miss Dolores Sherman, Milwaukee, sister of the bridegroom, who attended as maid of honor, and the bridesmaids, Mrs. Frank Sprague, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Ervin Kademan, Colby, sisters of the bride, were identically attired in gowns which featured double net skirts and lace bodices and boleros, and wore matching lace gauntlets. Their hand bouquets and headdresses of carnations were tinted in yellow, orchid and nile green to correspond with their gowns.

Edward Mews, River Falls, brother of the bride, was best man and groomsmen were Frank Sprager and Ervin Kademan.

The bride’s mother chose for the ceremony a gold crepe dress accented with a lavender orchid.

Dinner was served to 80 guests in the church dining hall and was followed in the evening by a dance at the Riverview ballroom near Stratford.

Guests attended from Colby, Stanley, Stratford, Rozellville, Marshfield, Auburndale and Milwaukee.

The couple will live in Milwaukee where both are employed.

The Register joins their many local friends in extending congratulations and best wishes for a long and happy wedded life.

Hi, I am a niece of Erv Sherman and Delores (mews). Where did you find this information? I would like to pass it on to their children.
