Schultz, William L. (22 Dec. 1884 - 5 Dec. 1951)

A Unity, Wisconsin resident for the past 26 years, William L. Schultz, 67, passed away at 7:30 A.M. Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Mr. Schultz had been in poor health for the past three years and death was attributed to a complication of diseases.

Mr. Schultz, a retired farmer and livestock buyer, was born December 22, 1884 at Random Lake, Wisconsin. He was married to Julia Wietjan at Loyal June 5, 1909. She passed away October 2, 1919. On January 17, 1922 he married Esther Goutcher at Loyal. She passed away in August, 1941.

A resident of Unity the past 26 years, Mr. Schultz had served on the Village Board here and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Charles Witt officiating. Burial will be made at Loyal. The body is reposing at the Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby.

Surviving are two sons, Wm. Jr., and Orville, and two daughters, Mrs. Conrad (Irene) Flink, and Miss June Schultz, all of Unity; three brothers, Dr. Herman A. Schultz, Edgar; and Theodore and Albert, Random Lake; and three grandchildren.

Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

Active pallbearers for the funeral of William Schultz last Saturday were William Kadolf, Otto Lemke and Henry Lemke of Loyal, Arthur and Ted Salter of Marshfield, and Otto Kuehling.

The honorary pallbearers at the funeral were C. J. Bane, Colby; Fred Cox, Loyal; Charles Haslow and G. C. Schultz, Spencer; John Sorenson, George and Walter Cook, of Unity.

The Choir of Trinity Lutheran Church sang, accompanied by Mrs. Walter Wieland.

Out of town relatives present at the funeral were Dr. H. A. Schultz and Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Schultz Jr. of Edgar; Mr. Eugene Schultz, of Kendall; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Schultz, Mrs. Robert Schultz and Mrs. Herbert Schultz of Milwaukee; Ted Schultz, Random Lake; Mrs. Clara Grotze of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Goutcher, Rochester; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Goutcher, Kimberly. There were also friends from Loyal, Thorp, Greenwood, Interwald, Marshfield, Edgar, Colby, Abbotsford and Spencer.

The business places in the Village were closed between the hours of two and three.
