Brunner, Gertrude (6 JAN 1918 - 16 DEC 1935)

Gertrude Brunner was born Jan. 6th, 1918, at Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) and died Dec. 16th, 1935 at the age of 17 years, 11 months and 10 days.

She spent her childhood here and attended the Parochial School and Thorp High School. In her freshman year she withdrew from school because of ill health. Doctors determined that she had contracted tuberculosis. She was a patient at Wausau and Eau Claire but she preferred to be with her family at home. With much time on her hands she developed a love for painting and spent much of her time in such occupation. She leaves to mourn her untimely death, her mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Brunner; three brothers, Barney and George of Thorp, and Frank of Chippewa Falls; two sisters, Anna and Theresa, and many friends.

The funeral was held at St. Bernard’s Church on Dec. 18, 1935 at 9:00 a.m., with Rev. A.M. Muckerheide officiating. Interment took place in St. Bernard’s Cemetery.

The pallbearers were: Delton Ebben, Frank Kosieracki, Eugene Wilhelm, Frank Lesniewski, Cyril Alger and John Kleckner.
