Sumiec, Anna (20 MAY 1936)

Miss Anna Sumiec, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Sumiec and Andrew Sorg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Sorg, of Ravensburg, Germany, were united in marriage May 20th, 1936 at 10 o’clock mass at St. Hedwig’s Church with Father Kulig officiating.

Frank Filipek acted as best man with Marie Sumiec. The other attending couples were Joe Sumiec with Lottie Sobolewski, Julius Zukowski with Sophie Sumiec and Clara Sumiec acted as maid of honor. The bride wore a lace dress with a satin jacket, which came down to a train and was trimmed in lace. Her veil was nine yards long and was finished off with a ruffle at the end. She carried a spray of calla lilies and sweet peas, The attending girls wore dresses of muslin-de-swan in rainbow colors of pink, powder blue, orchid and nile green with picture hats to match. They all carried bouquets of tea roses. The groom wore an oxford gray suit. The attending men all wore blue suits with black ties. The reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents.

The newlyweds left Friday and will live in Chicago, where the groom is employed at J.A. Ott Inc.

The out of town guests were Mrs. J. Baranowski, her daughter, Theresa, and frank Filipek, of Whiting, Ind.; Marie Sumiec of Cleveland, Ohio; Sophie Sumiec, Lotto Sobolewski, and R.H. Dorsha of Chicago; Adolph Zelent of St. Paul, Minn. And Mrs. Giwojna and son, Edwin of Gilman, Wis.
