SERVICE HELD FOR MRS. LENA BARTH
The Rev. Milleville Conducts Rites at Lutheran Church in Nasonville, Wisconsin
Granton--Final rites were conducted Thursday afternoon for Mrs. Lena Bartz, 74, who died Monday affternoon at the Neillsville Hospital following a four days' illness. The Rev. Edgar A. Milleville officiated at the 1 o'clock service at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton, and at the 2 o'clock service at St. John's Lutheran Church, Nasonville. Internment took place in the Nasonville cemetery.
SERVE AS PALLBEARERS
Pallbearers were Ralph Heinz, John Dix, August Seehafer, Albert Knorr, Ernest Handke, and William Behling. Norma Bartz, June Bealer, Shirley Bartz and Irene Yaeger were in charge of the floral tributes. Mrs. Bartz, daughter of August and Ernestine (Martin) Braun, was born Jan. 12, 1871 in the Town of Maple Grove, Manitoiwoc County, and was baptized and confirmed at the Evangelical Lutheran Bartholomas Church in the Town of Brillion, Calumet County. On April 10, 1898, she was married to Fred William Bartz, the couple settling on a farm near Brillion. In 1903 they came to the Town of Rock, where they operated a farm until about seven years ago when they disposed of their property and went to the home of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. August Bealer, where Mr. Bartz died Dec. 11, 1937.
Surviving are two sons, Robert and Walter Bartz, both of Marshfield, and two daughters, Mrs. Clara Bealer, Chili, and Mrs. Alma Gaster, Medford, Ore. A son and a daughter died in infancy. Also surviving are four stepchildren, Gust and Ewald and Mrs. Ella Yeager, Marshfield, and Ernest of Oregon; 17 Grandchildren; and two brothers, Henry Braun, Granton, and Albert Braun, Brillion. Amoung those from out of town attending the rites were Albert Braun and daughter, Agnes, and Andrew Bethke, Brillion.
