Johnston, Gilbert B. Dr. (10 Feb. 1863 - 20 Feb. 1931)

Dr. Gilbert B. Johnston, Abbotsford, physician for thirty years, died at his home in Abbotsford Friday, February 20, 1931, pneumonia and complications of but one week duration being the cause of his departure from labor on earth to rest and immortality. Masonic funeral services were held at Abbotsford Sunday afternoon and at the Abbotsford armory, Rev. Lawton of the Abbotsford Presbyterian church officiating. Internment took place in the Abbotsford cemetery.

The deceased was born Feb. 10th, 1863, at Watertown, Onto., Canada, thus reaching the age of sixty-eight years and ten days. He came to the United States in 1882 and lived at Ann Arbor, Mich., until 1895 when he moved to Abbotsford, Wis. He was married to Miss Maud Mary Morrison at DePere, Wis., Feb. 16, 1890, to which union two children were born, who, together with Mrs. Johnston, survived him. The children are Janet Johnston of Abbotsford and Robert J. Johnston, Minneapolis, Minn.

Dr. Johnston was a member of the Presbyterian church at Abbotsford, of the Abbotsford Lodge F. & A.M., the Elks and the American and State Medical Association. He was a just and upright citizen, a kind husband and father, a sincere friend, a courteous and obliging neighbor, a man who endeavored always to perform every duty - to his God, his country, his family, his neighbor and himself.
