Mrs. Frances Schultze passed away at Victory Hospital on Wednesday afternoon at 4:40, following a short illness of flu. Mrs. Schultze, whose maiden name was Miss Frances Hinsch, was born in Hamburg, Germany, July 15, 1858. In 1881 she was married to Henry Schultze and three years later they came to America and settled in the town of Worden (Clark Co., Wis.), where they made their home on a farm. Mr. Schultze preceded her in death on Nov. 24, 1916. Three years later Mrs. Schultze came to this city and she has resided here ever since.
Ten children were born, three of whom preceded her in death. Surviving are: Freda (Mrs. A.W. Johnson) and Theodore of this city; Frank, Max and Dan Schultze of Thorp; Matilda (Mrs. Helmuth Dueysen) of Chetek and Martha (Mrs. William Krause) of Thorp. One brother, Ed Hinsch of this city and one sister, Mrs. Fred Bonell of Puyallup, Wash., twenty-three grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive.
The funeral will be held on Sunday afternoon at 1:30 from the residence of her daughter, Mrs. A.W. Johnson, and at two o’clock from the German Lutheran Church, Rev. F.H. Sprengler conducting the ceremony. The pallbearers will be six grandsons: Vernon and Conrad Dueysen, William Krause Jr., William Lawrence and Donald Schultze.
