Leonhardt, Fred J. (15 DEC 1849 - 14 APR 1936)

Funeral services will be held at the home at 1:30 and at the Christ Lutheran Church at Abbotsford, Wisconsin at 2:30 Friday afternoon for Fred J. Leonhardt who passed away at his Abbotsford home Tuesday at 11:40 a.m. He had been ill for a week with bronchial asthma before his death.

Services are in charge of Rev. J. Brandt of Dorchester and interment will be made in the Memorial Cemetery.

Fred J. Leonhardt was born in Germany Dec. 15, 1849 and came to the United States in 1868, when he was nineteen. He lived with his family at Centerville, Wis., until his marriage to Miss Fredericka Martens, which occurred on April 29, 1880, when they moved to their farm home two and one-half miles southeast of Dorchester (Clark Co., Wis.). They resided there for over forty years and Mr. Leonhardt retired in 1921 to live in Abbotsford, Wis. He was 86 years old at time of death.

He leaves a widow, one son, Fred Jr., of the town of Holton, and three daughters, Mrs. Lena Laack, Dorchester, Mrs. Ida Jacobi and Mrs. Clara Jacobi of the town of Holton, and Mrs. Martha Gokey of Abbotsford, Wis. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren. The many friends of the family join us in extending sincerest sympathy.
