Smasl, Cecelia Leona (LEDUC) (June 5, 1921 - June 4, 2007)

Ceil passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 4, 2007, one day shy of her 86th birthday at Oakwood health & Rehab Center in Thorp, Wisconsin.

She was born in Chippewa Falls, WI on June 4, 1921, one of ten children of Edward and Rose LeDuc. On September 1, 1941 she married Sylvester Smasal and they settle in Stanley, where they raised their family of seven children.

Ceil worked at the Farmers Store in Stanley and was also involved in the ARC for many years.

She is survived by her seven children: Sylvia (Merlin) Gerrits, Trudy (Arden) Timm, Cindy (Dennis) Christophersen, Tom (Mary Ann), Kris (Ron) Speich, Cherry (John) Able, and Tony. She is also survived by her sisters: Rosemary (Alfred) Eslinger and Mary Ann Kressin; brother, Albert (Rollie) LeDuc and sister-in-law, Rita LeDuc. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Snooks; one grandchild, Theresa Timm; three sisters: Elenore, Dorothy, and Annette, and three brothers: Fred, Charles, and Earl.

Visitation will be from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. prior to the 11:00 a.m. Mass at Holy Family Church in Stanley on Friday, June 8, 2007. Burial will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chippewa County Adult Special Olympics.
