Scheel, Linda (Marriage - 6 Oct. 1931)

A very pretty wedding took place at the Methodist church at Unity on Tuesday, October 6th, Rev. F. M. Blish reading the marriage ceremony, when Miss Linda Scheel, daughter of Mrs. Katherine Scheel, and Mr. Byron Spencer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Spencer, were married. Miss Esther Spencer of Unity acted as bridesmaid and Miss Garnetta Phillips was maid of honor. The groom was attended by Mr. Paul Haslow of Loyal and Mr. Gerhardt Scheel of Colby. Mary Spencer acted as flower girl. Esther Spencer and Mary Spencer are sisters of the groom, Garnetta Phillips and Paul Haslow are cousins of the bride and Gerhardt Scheel is the bride’s brother.

The bride was attired in a beautiful dress of white silk satin with a long veil arranged in cap effect. Her shower bouquet consisted of snapdragons and swansonians. The bridesmaid wore an ankle length dress of pink silk satin with head band of silver color with white stones. The bouquets of the bridesmaid and maid of honor consisted of mixed garden flowers. The flower bearer wore a dress of peach silk.

A reception was given at the home of the bride’s mother, the home being nicely decorated in white and blue crepe paper for the occasion. One hundred friends and relatives were present.

After a wedding trip to Manitowoc, Madison and Iowa, the newlyweds will be at home after October 15th on the farm of the bride’s mother.

The Phonograph joins their many friends in extending best wishes.
