Sorenson, Nels P. (3 MAR 1870 - 14 JUL 1936)
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 1:30 from the Andrew Sorenson home and at 2 o’clock from the Evangelical Salem Church for N.P. Sorenson, who passed away at his farm home one and one-half miles west of here (Dorchester, Clark Co., Wis.) Tuesday afternoon from acute heart block caused by the heat. The Rev. J.M. LeCount will be in charge of the services and interment will be made in the Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.
Nels Peter Sorenson was born at Norre Vissing, Skanderborg, Sweden, on March 3, 1870, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Soren Sorenson. On May 10, 1877, he came with his parents to Stone Bank, Wis., where the family lived until October when they moved to their farm near Dorchester, Wis. Mr. Sorenson’s father died about 40 years ago and his mother passed away in 1913. Since that time Mr. Sorenson has managed the home farm, where he has lived for the past 59 years. He was the first of six brothers to pass on. Always honest and upright with his fellow men, he will be missed by those who best knew him.
He leaves five brothers to mourn his loss; S.J. Sorenson, Superior; Andrew and E.M. Sorenson, Dorchester; M.N. Sorenson, Milwaukee; and Hans Sorenson, Mt. Morris, Mich. He also leaves 20 nieces and nephews.
