Hoffmann, Magdalena (18 Feb. 1871 - 31 May 1932)

Mrs. Magdalena Hoffmann passed on to the distant shore Tuesday evening, May 31st, 1932, at 11:10 P.M., at her farm home in the town of Hull, complications of ailments of fifteen months duration being the cause of her departure. Funeral services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic church Saturday, June 4th, at 9:30, Rev. L. J. Lang officiating, and internment will be made in the Colby Catholic cemetery.

The deceased was born in Cooperstown, Manitowoc county, Wisconsin, on Feb. 18, 1871, thus reaching the age of sixty-one years, three months and thirteen days. She was married to Joseph Hoffmann at Medford, Wis., on June 13, 1894, and they came to Marathon county in 1901. Her husband died July 12, 1930.

She is survived by the following children: George Hoffman, Colby; Arthur Hoffmann, Colby; Edward Hoffmann, Beloit; Tony Hoffmann, Colby; Agnes Kearney, Ackley, Iowa; Lena Brill, Colby; Clara Schommer, Colby. Also one brother, Albert Demerath, Canada.

She was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic church and the Christian Mothers’ Society. She was a hard and diligent worker, a great lover of her home and religion and had the esteem and respect of many friends who join in extending sympathy to the bereaved sons and daughters.
