Hughes, Margaret (1812 - 1 SEP 1897)

Mrs. James Hughes died at her home at Pleasant Ridge (Clark Co., Wis.), Wednesday morning, Sept. 1st, 1897, at the advanced age of 85 years. Margaret Maher Hughes was born at Tipperary, Ireland, and at the age of 16 came to America and located in Canada, where she was married to James Hughes. In 1883 they moved to Clark County, where Mr. Hughes died in 1884. The deceased leaves six sons and one daughter to mourn the loss of a loving and indulgent mother, and host of friends, who loved her for her good and neighborly qualities. The funeral will occur at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in this city Friday morning at 9 o’clock, Rev. Father A.J. Joerres officiating. The interment will take place in the family lot at the Catholic Cemetery.
