Simons, Jacob #2 (5 APR 1819 - 30 JUL 1898)

Jacob Simons died at his home in this city (Neillsville, Clark Co., Wis.), of old age, aged 79 years, 3 months and 25 days. He was born in Ittersdorf, Reinpreisen, Germany in 1819; came to America in 1840 and settled on a farm near Hartford, Wis.; in 1866 moved to Trenton, Washington Co., in 1875 and to Neillsville in 1896. Was married in 1848 to Elizabeth Schild. To them were born 8 children, six of whom are living: Mrs. Katie Suchey of Abbotsford, Mrs. Mary Suchey of Granville Station, Mrs. Annie Weirchem of Lynn, Mrs. Addie Marx, John and Helen Simons of this city, the last named living at home with her parents, all of whom with the loving wife deeply realized their great loss. The funeral occurred Tuesday from the Catholic Church and the remains were laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Deceased was a kind and loving husband and father and was respected by all who knew him. The bereaved extend heartfelt thanks to all who assisted them in their affliction.
