Schultz, Lorna Pearl (Marriage - 5 June 1934)

Miss Lorna Pearl Schultz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Schultz of the town of Holton, and Mr. Fred Schmelzer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Schmelzer of the town of Frankfort, were married June 5th, at the Lutheran church of Abbotsford, Rev. John Brandt of Dorchester reading the marriage ceremony. Miss Lucille Schultz was maid of honor. Miss Helen Lydia Schultz, another sister, and Miss Helen Kaage of Dorchester attended as bridesmaids. The groom was attended by his brother, Ernest Schmelzer, and Vilas Verhulst of Dorchester, a cousin of the bride, and Robert Wetzel.

The bride was attired in a beautiful dress of white satin and wore a veil of tulle which fell in a train. Her flowers consisted of Ophelia roses and white carnations. The maid of honor wore a dress of canary yellow flat crepe and carried pink carnations. The bridesmaids wore frocks of rose and beige crepe and carried pink carnations.

A reception for eighty guests was held at the home of the bride’s parents near Abbotsford, Wis. In the evening, a wedding dance was held at Wiedenhoeft’s pavilion in Colby and was attended by a large number of relatives and friends from Abbotsford, Cherokee, Colby and Dorchester, Wis.

Following a trip through the southern part of the state the couple will reside at Colby and will be at home after June 15th.
