John Rueden, a well-known Unity farmer and former Colbyite, died Monday morning, at 7:30, diabetes of three years duration and dropsy being the cause of his departure to the distant shore. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at the St. Mary’s Catholic church, Rev. L. J. Lang officiating, and internment was made in the Colby cemetery. His six sons acted as pall bearers.

The deceased was born in Sheboygan June 12, 1871, thus reaching the age of sixty-three years, two months and twenty-two days. He came to the city of Colby in 1895 and worked here at the carpenter trade. The deceased is survived by his widow and nine children, namely: George of Dorchester, Henry of Elkhorn, Mrs. E. Walker of New London, Arthur of Colby, Frank at home, Elsie of New London, Lawrence, John, and Anton, at home. Also one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Lehman of New London, and one brother, George Rueden of Washington.
