Christensen, Stella K. (August 14, 1904 - July 26, 2007)

Stella Christensen, age 102, died on Thursday, July 26, 2007, at the Pine View Care Center in Black River Falls.

Stella was born on August 14, 1904 in Granton, the daughter of Leo and Anna (Barth) Kleinschmidt. She attended school in the Granton area. On September 22, 1928 she was united in marriage to Knute Christensen. They lived in several different locations throughout central Wisconsin. They later divorced.

She is survived by a son, Emeron (Phyllis) Christensen, of Onalaska, WI; eight grandchildren, Diane (Ronald) Linzmeier, Kenneth (Deborah) Fountaine, Beverly (Donn) Spencer, Carol (Daniel) Cornwell, all of Wisconsin Rapids; Joanne (James) Coenen, of Rudolph, WI; Kim (Edward Boutet, of Hillsborough, NJ; Lynn Christensen of Denver, CO; and Heidi (Shawn) Levendusky, of Maple Grove, MN. She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Stella was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Marian; a grandson, David; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services for Stella will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 3rd at St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Pastor Timothy Wenger will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church prior to the service on Friday. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Arpin, WI.

The Gesche Funeral Home of Neillsville is assisting Stella’s family with arrangements.
