Kademan, Wilhelmine (10 June 1860 - 10 June 1935)

Mrs. Wilhelmine Kademan died Monday evening at 9:15 at the home of her son in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ernst Mandel, after an illness of one week, heart trouble followed by a stroke being the cause of her departure to the heavenly goal. Funeral services will be held at the Ernst Mandel home Friday afternoon at 2:30 and at the St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran church at Green Grove at 3:00 P.M., Rev. M. C. Goetsch officiating, and internment will be made in the Green Grove cemetery.

The deceased was born in Manitowoc county June 10, 1860, thus reaching the age of seventy-five years. She was married to Richard Kademan on September 7, 1878, at Sheboygan, Wis., and they moved on to a farm in the town of Green Grove in 1882. She had been making her home with her children since the death of her husband in 1914. Their union was blessed with six children, one son preceding them in death in 1905. The surviving children are Mrs. Ernst Mandel of Colby, Mrs. James Shay of Jackson, Minn., Mrs. Francis Sebold of Sheboygan Falls, Oscar Kademan of Green Grove and Edwin Kademan of Colby. There are seventeen grand children and three great grand children.

Mrs. Kademan was a good Christian and a kind and indulgent wife and mother. She was the mother of a large and gifted family, many of whom now have "silver threads among the gold." She was of a hospitable disposition, like all our early pioneers, and none ever entered her home without a warm welcome nor left without feeling the warmth of a genuine hospitality so characteristic of the early settlers.
