Kendall, Lewis E. (23 June 1876 - 2 June 1935)
Lewis E. Kendall was born in Montello, Wis., June 23rd, 1876. Died June 2nd, 1935, having reached the age of 58 years, 11 months and 9 days. In his early childhood he moved with his parents, to Packwaukee, Wis., where he spent his childhood and youth. In his early manhood his ambitious spirit took him to many parts of the country. During this period he resided in North and South Dakota, Washington, California, Massachusetts and his home state, Wisconsin. In 1915 he became permanently located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he resided until the time of his death.
A Masonic funeral was held for him by Kilbourn Lodge, June 4th, in Milwaukee. The body was then shipped to Holcombe, Wis., where internment took place Thursday afternoon, June 6th. Rev. Bushendorf conducted a short service at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Cleaves. Colby Masonic Lodge rendered a short committal service at the grave.
He leaves to mourn his loss his mother, Mrs. Mary L. Kendall of Milwaukee, Wis., two sisters, Mrs. R. L. Cleaves of Holcombe, Wis., and Mrs. O. R. Briggs of Colby, Wis., one niece, Mrs. E. W. Cunningham of Freeport, Ill.
Members of the Colby Masonic Lodge who participated in the services were K. Andrews, E. D. Loos, Ed. Melander, Frank Goeltz, Oscar Carlson, C. A. Nelsen, Carl Holzhausen, Walter Billman, Paul Draeger and Henry Wilkening.
