Ortmeier, Louise (1 May 1855 - 2 Aug. 1935)
Mrs. Conrad Ortmeier died at the home of her son, Henry, in the town of Hull last Friday afternoon, Aug. 2, old age weakness of two weeks duration being the cause of her departure. Funeral services were held at the Reformed church Monday, Rev. H. K. Hartmann officiating, and internment was made in the Colby cemetery. Pall bearers were Elmore Heinz, Allen Heinz, Alfred Heinz, Elmore Dehne, Roland Heinz and Paul Dehne. Flower girls were Irene Ortmeier, Gertrude Dehne, Mrs. Elmore Heinz and Milda Heinz.
Louise Rehne Ortmeier was born in Germany May 1st, 1855, thus reaching the age of eighty years, three months and one day. She came to this country with her parents in 1857 and settled with them in Manitowoc county. She was married to Conrad Ortmeier on April 9th, 1880, in the town of Newton, Wis. They cleared a farm where they lived for many years coming to the Colby vicinity in 1916.
The deceased is survived by her husband and two children, Mrs. Edward Dehne of Colby and Henry Ortmeier of Unity. Also one brother, Aug. Rehne of Manitowoc, and two sisters, Mrs. Albert Wolf and Mrs. Louis Sohn, both of Cleveland, Wis.
Out of town people here for the funeral were Mr. Fred Heinz, Mr. and Mrs. Elmore Heinz and Carol Mae, Allen Heinz, Alfred Heinz, Roland Heinz and Milda Heinz of Manitowoc, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Kracht, Mr. and Mrs. Bender, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Burchhardt and Mrs. Jacob Burchhardt, Sr., of Plymouth, Mrs. Carl Wedepohl and Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Gensman of Merrill, Mr. Herman Ecke, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Ecke, Mrs. John Berglin and Mrs. Edw. Clark of Shawano and Mrs. Peter Burchhardt of Stratford.
