Buddy Kocher, who returned to Milwaukee after visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. Kocher, got his call for army service and as sent to New Jersey.

Joe Shober is hauling some large loads of logs on our roads these days.

Mrs. Eunice Rogers and Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Rogers and son, Eugene, of Sentinel Butte, Mont., spent Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Swieso and family.

Mrs. E. Johnson and daughter, Joyce, of Marengo, Ill., returned home with her husband, who drove up after them.

Voights and Kochers autoed up to see Mark Smith, who is ill with pneumonia. They report he is on the gain.

The P. T. A. held their meeting Friday night at the school house. Community singing was enjoyed by all. Mrs. Roehl sang song and gave a reading. Sheephead, bunco and 500 were played. Prizes were awarded to Herbert Schendel, Mrs. Roehl, Arlene Palms, Mrs. Carteron, Mrs. Swiseo, Mrs. Jacobi, Mr. Jacobi, Mrs. Christie, Mr. Trickie, Mrs. Lewandoski, Vernards Chrstie and Shirley Syth. Lunch was served.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kocher went to Milwaukee to see their son, Buddie, before he left for New Jersey. Bud arrived at his destination all right and is stationed with the signal corps.

Miss Esther Schwan had supper with the H. Christie family Friday evening.

Mrs. Hugh Christie entertained the Birthday Club this week, Mesdames Syth, Schendel, Thomas, Heck, and Roehl attended. The afternoon was spent in playing Chinese checkers and visiting. A five o’clock diner was served.
