Piwoni, Steve (1 AUG 1881 - 25 SEP 1937)

Steve Piwoni, 56 years of age, died of a heart attack while engaged in plowing in a field on his farm in the town of Roosevelt (Taylor Co., Wis.) last Saturday afternoon.

Mr. Piwoni was born in Poland on Aug. 1, 1881. He came to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) from Europe in the year 1900. On July 26, 1905, he was united in marriage to Valeria Florkowski, they making their home on a farm north of Thorp, which has since been the residence of the deceased. He leaves three children, two sons, Harry and Frank, and one daughter, Florence Piwoni, three brothers, Peter, William and Teofil of Thorp, and two sisters, Mrs. Walter Juzwiak and Mrs. Anton Dombrowski.

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at St. Stanislaus Church in Lublin, Rev. Jos. Rapala officiating, interment taking place in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Frank Zakrzewicz, Frank Sierociuk, Anton Pawlicki, Adolph Burzynski, John Laskowski and Mike Skiewierczinski.
