Koschak, Mary A. #3 (10 NOV 1915 - 23 AUG 2007)

Mary A. Koschak, 91, Willard, died on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2007, at Oakwood Villa, Altoona. Funeral services were held on Friday, Aug. 24, 2007, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard. The Rev. Joseph Follmar officiated. Burial followed in Holy Family Cemetery. Her grandsons served as pall bearers.

Mary Ann Lamovec was born on Nov. 10, 1915, in Ely, Minn., to Frank and Frances (nee Steblaj) Lamovec. At the age of 5, her family bought and moved to a farm in the town of Eaton, rural Greenwood. It was there that she was raised and received her education at West Eaton School. As a young woman, she moved to Detroit and worked at a candy factory for a short time. She married Frank H. Koschak on Aug. 10, 1946, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard. They lived and farmed in the town of Hendren, near Willard, and raised five children. She also worked at the Loyal Cannery during the summers for a few years. Her husband died on Sept. 22, 1993. She continued to live on the farm for a couple of years and then moved into Greenwood and lives at the Black River View Apartments until July 2007. She was a very active member of Holy Family Catholic Church where she sang in the choir, taught ccd, and was active in the CCW. She was also a member of the KSKJ Lodge, the Slovenska Druzba Club and the Willard Homemakers Club. She had many interests, but especially enjoyed music, singing, fishing, reading, bird watching, and flowers.

She will be sadly missed by her five children: Jacqueline (Donald) Myers, Eau Claire, Francis Koschak, Irvine, Calif., John (Nancy) Koschak, Greenwood, Linda (Jim) Caliebe, Eau Claire, and Steve (Barbara) Koschak, Loyal; 14 grandchildren, James (Maria) Myers, Leanna (Rob) Hulne, Steven Myers, Rae Myers, Andrea Myers, David Caliebe, Scott Caliebe, Trevor Caliebe, Jana Caliebe, Marcus Koschak, Michael Koschak, Megan Koschak, Justin Koschak, and Loren Koschak; and one brother, Hank (Ann) Lamovec, Eau Claire.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Frank; one sister, Frances Aiuto; and tree brothers, Al, Phil, and Frank Lamovec.

Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood, assisted the family with arrangements.
