Witte, Madelyn (Marriage - 17 June 1936)

A very pretty wedding was solemnized at St. John’s Evangelical church Wednesday, June 17th, Rev. Edwin Becker reading the marriage ceremony, when Miss Madelyn Witte, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Witte, became the bride of Mr. Merlin DuVall, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo DuVall. Miss Ione Witte acted as bridesmaid and the groom was attended by Adam Fitzel.

The bride was attired in a beautiful dress of peach lace and her bouquet consisted of roses and snap-dragons. The bridesmaid wore a dress of Nile green net and her shoulder bouquet consisted of mixed flowers.

A reception was given at the home of the bride’s parents, the home being nicely decorated in peach and green crepe paper and cut flowers.

The bride graduated from the Colby, Wis. High School in 1931 and from the Marathon county normal school at Wausau. For the past four years she has been teaching in town of Frankfort schools. The groom is a cheese maker and the couple will make their home in a cheese factory.
