SON OF FORMER RESIDENTS IS LISTED AMONG MISSING

Lt. Lyle Slocomb, son of Mr. and Mrs. Asa Slocomb, former residents of Pleasant Ridge, has been reported missing in action since June 4 in Alaska. His parents now reside near Ellendale, N. D.

Lt. Slocomb was piloting a B-17 bomber and was thought to have reached the Alaskan theater of war June 1, just before Japanese troops landed on Attu, westernmost of the Aleutian Island group. He enlisted in the air corps in April, 1941, and was commissioned in December of the same year.
