Henkel, Alice Dorothy (2 Apr. 1910 - 8 May 1938)

Alice Dorothy Henkel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gust Henkel of Colby, died at the Chippewa Falls hospital Sunday, May 8th, tuberculosis peritonitis being the cause of her death. She was born in Colby April 2, 1910, and had been ill for fourteen years. The past two years she had been in the hospital. Funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon at the Colby M. E. church, Rev. H. Lee officiating, and internment will be made in the Colby cemetery.

Besides her parents, the deceased is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Wallace of New York City, George of Nashua, Mont., Jack of Reno, Nev., Robert of Madison, Mrs. R. T. Elkins of St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. A. A. Johnson of St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. A. A. Johnson of St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. F. H. Hochmuth of Pelican Lake, Mrs. A. S. Phipps of Ladysmith and Miss Mae at home.

Funeral services for Miss Alice Dorothy Henkel were held Thursday afternoon from the Colby Methodist church, Rev. Harry Lee officiating, and internment was made in the Colby cemetery. Pall bearers were Nick Gierl, Angus Lamont, Wayne Davis, Norman Orth, George Fehlman and Charles Henkel. Those in charge of the flowers were Mrs. June Foster, Mrs. Alice Becker and Miss Lucile Fuhrmann.

Out of town people who attended the funeral included Mrs. F. H. Hochmuth of Pelican Lake, Mr. and Mrs. William Fuhrmann and family of Greenwood, Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Schultz of Spencer, Mrs. A. A. Johnson and Mrs. R. T. Elkins of St. Louis, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Phipps and daughter, Kathleen, of Ladysmith.
