Grueneberg, Doris (06 Dec 1923 - 14 Sep 2007)

Doris Grueneberg, 81, of Wausau, died Friday, September 14th, 2007, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital under Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

Doris was born December 6, 1925, in Wausau to the late Henry and Lillie(Wegner)Jehn. She was baptized and confirmed in St. John's Lutheran Church, town of Stettin. Doris married Lloyd Grueneberg in Wausau on August 13, 1955. Lloyd preceded her in death on December 7, 2004. Doris enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing draperies and spending her days with Dusty the dog and Bandit the cat.

Survivors include her children, Bruce (Deb) Grueneberg of Merrill, Brian Grueneberg of Wausau, Beth (Leon) Bartelt of Wausau, Bonnie Grueneberg of Abbotsford and Kris Grueneberg of Wausau; seven grandchildren, Justin Grueneberg of Wausau, Jason (Amanda Radtke) Grueneberg, Joshua Grueneberg, Jessica Grueneberg all of Merrill, Colton and Lillie Bartelt of Wausau and April (Mike) Sather of Weston; two great grandchildren, Kali and Keagan Sather, one brother, Harold Jehn of Indiana; and three sister-in-law, Hazel Jehn of Merrill, Viola Jehn of Wisconsin Rapids and Fern (Leo) Zastrow of Merrill.

Doris was preceded in death by four brothers, Milton, Victor, Fremont and Gilbert Jehn.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 18, at Faith Lutheran Church, in the town of Maine on Hwy K. Reverend Kevin Hoogland presided. Burial was in the town of Berlin Cemetery. Visitation was Tuesday from 3 p.m. until the time of services at the church. The Helke Funeral Home, Wausau, assisted the family with arrangements.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Aspirus Wausau Hospital and Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
