Stumpf, Violet (Marriage - 3 June 1939)

At a ceremony performed at the St. Mary’s Catholic church parsonage, in Colby Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock by the Rev. Father L. J. Lang, Miss Violet Stumpf, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Stumpf of Dorchester, was united in marriage with Frank G. Sterzinger, son of Mrs. George Sterzinger of Colby. Viola Stumpf, twin sister of the bride acted as bridesmaid and the groom was attended by his brother, George Sterzinger, Jr.

The bride was attired in a beautiful floor length gown of white silk net with sweeping skirt. Her veil of tulle was worn with a coronet headdress of seed pearls and she also carried a bouquet of white gardenias, roses, lilies of the valley and sweet peas. The bridesmaid was attired in a dress of pink santinia, picture hat and white accessories. Her bouquet consisted of sweet peas and snapdragons.

The ceremony was followed by a reception and six o’clock dinner at the home of the bride’s parents for immediate relatives. In the evening, a dance was given at the Abbotsford armory for relatives and friends.

The couple will make their home in Colby where the groom is employed at the Colby cheese box factory.
