Schmidt, Marie (22 NOV 1938)
Mr. Arthur Stewart, son of Frank Stewart, and Miss Marie Schmidt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. J. Schmidt, all of the town of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), were united in the holy bonds of matrimony by Rev. A.M. Muckerheide at eight o’clock, Tuesday morning, Nov. 22nd, 1938, at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in the village.
Miss Schmidt, who was given in marriage by her father, was attired in a white brocaded velvet gown with finger tip veil and carried white roses, pompoms and chrysanthemums. She was attended by Miss Betty Cebelinski, who wore a dusty rose taffeta dress with wine accessories and had for her bouquet, talisman roses and pompoms. Raymond W. Schmidt acted as best man and he and the groom wore navy blue suits.
After the ceremony a reception was held to the couple at the home of the bride’s parents, attended by many relatives and friends and in the evening a wedding dance was given at the American legion hall in the village. The newlyweds will reside on the groom’s farm in the town of Thorp, after a short honeymoon. Their many friends join in extending best wishes.
Among out of town guest attending the wedding were, Mrs. Bert Warriner and sons, Harry and Kenneth and daughter, Doris, of Sparta, Wis., and Mr. and Mrs. Guy Stewart and daughter, Hazel and son, Leo of Withee.
