Dins, Bertha (Marriage - 24 Aug. 1939)
Miss Bertha Dins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Dins, and Mr. Walter Schauer, son of Mrs. Bertha Schauer, will be married this Thursday afternoon, August 24th, at 2:30 o’clock at Zions Ev. Lutheran church, Rev. O. Hoffmann reading the marriage ceremony. Mrs. Hubert Schauer will be maid of honor and Dorothy Dins and Erma Wiersig will be bridesmaids. The groom will be attended by Hubert Schauer as best man and Eric Schauer and Frederick Dins.
The bride chose as her wedding gown a beautiful chiffon velvet dress with long train, sweetheart beaded neckline, long veil with beaded crown held in place with orange blossoms. She chose white roses and baby breaths as her bouquet. The maid of honor will wear a dress of aqua satin with a wrist corsage. Miss Dorothy Dins will wear a dress of coral satin with a wrist corsage and Miss Wiersig will wear a dress of powder blue satin with a wrist corsage.
Arlene Graffunder, niece of the groom, of Dorchester will be a flower bearer and Eli Krueger, nephew of the bride, will be ring bearer. Miss Adeline Goetsch will sing, "Be Thou Our Guide." Otto Harold Dins and Arvin Schauer will be ushers. The flower girl will wear a long white dress with ribbon headdress. The ring bearer will wear a white suit and carry rings in a large calla lily.
A reception for 125 will be given at the home of the bride’s parents and a five o’clock dinner served. The home was nicely decorated with cut flowers and white, pink and blue streamers with a white wedding bell in the archway. In the evening, a wedding dance will be given at Wiedenhoeft’s pavilion.
The young couple will make their home on the groom’s farm in the town of Green Grove.
