Neumann, Friedericka (23 Feb. 1878 - 12 Dec. 1939)

Mrs. Friedericka Neumann, a resident of Colby for over 25 years, died Tuesday morning at 5:00 o’clock at the Memorial hospital at Wausau at the age of 62 years, pneumonia and other complications being the cause of her departure after a few days’ illness. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at St. John’s Lutheran church at Riplinger, Rev. Franklin Albrecht officiating and burial will be made in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Neumann, nee Friedericka Augustine, was born in Germany on February 23, 1878, and came to the United States with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Joachin Augustine when six years of age and settled in the town of Green Grove. She was married to Arthur Neumann on August 11th, 1900, and after her marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Neumann engaged in farming in the town of Colby. The past year she lived in Wausau.

Surviving are three sons and four daughters - Lawrence of the town of Colby, Bernhard of the town of Green Grove, Riley of the town of Colby, Mrs. Arthur Ewert of the town of Green Grove, Mrs. S. E. Blank of Milwaukee, Miss Roma Neumann of Milwaukee and Miss Bernita Neumann of Wausau. Also ten grand children; two sisters, Mrs. Theodore Lueloff of Colby and Mrs. Charles Marquardt of the town of Colby, a half sister, Mrs. Harry Jens of Owen, and a half brother, Fred Miller of the town of Green Grove.

The deceased will be remembered as a good Christian, kind and indulgent in all her ways, and always endeavored to do her duty.

Funeral services for Mrs. Friedericka Neuman, who died at the Wausau hospital, were held Friday afternoon at the St. John’s Lutheran church at Riplinger, Rev. Franklin Albrecht officiating, and internment was made in the parish cemetery. The pall bearers were William Domer, Arthur Wisnosky, Frank Mellenthin, Louis Miller, Emil Martin and William Ewalt. Those in charge of the flowers were Misses Pauline Martin, Doris Rienow, Virginia Reel, Arva DuVall, Audrey Larson and Lila Domer.

Among those from away who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Blank, Miss Roma Neuman, Cyril Whitney, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schultz, and Charles Molle of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Jens and Mrs. Lester Meyer of Owen, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Marquardt, Mrs. Theodore Lueloff, Miss Gertrude Lueloff, Mr. and Mrs. Joachin Miller and Mrs. Lena Ebert of Colby, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Salter of Unity, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Burkhart of Thorp, Mr. and Mrs. Fred J. Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Neuman and Alfred and Herbert Neuman of Curtiss, Mrs. Chris Abegglen of Wausau, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Rahn of Neillsville and Mrs. Martha Meinhart of Greenwood.
