Bandelow, George William (21 May 1867 - 17 Sept. 1942)
George William Bandelow, 75, Pine Valley, passed away at 6:45 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, 1942, at St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield, heart trouble and complications being the cause of his death.
Mr. Bandelow was born in Forest Township, Fond du Lac County, Wis., on the 21st day of May, 1867.
The departed came here, as a young man, with his mother and sisters, the family settling on the farm south of Neillsville which remained his home until a few years ago. It was to that beautiful farm home that he took his bride on Dec. 26, 1900. It wa here, also that Nellie (Humes) and George William Bandelow lived together until her death in July of 1926. They were the parents of two sons, Leland and Marlin, the latter passing away on the 17th day of July, 1942.
Mr. Bandelow, whose health had been poorly several years, lived with the younger son until his passing. About two weeks ago he was taken to the hospital where he was cared for until relieved of his suffering by death.
He is survived by the son, Leland, four grandchildren and by three sisters, namely: Emma, Mrs. Charles Roemer, Mrs. Mathilda Ferch and Mrs. Alma Radke, Hartford, Wis. Another sister, Mrs. Christ Roemer, preceded him in death three weeks ago.
Funeral services were held at two p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, at the Jaster Funeral Home, Rev. Obed Asp performing the rites. Interment was made in the Neillsville Cemetery.
Out of town relatives who were here for the rites are: Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Kolander, Mrs. Wm. Roemer, Mrs. Christ Leischer, Hartford; Mrs. John Gerhardt, Milwaukee, William Hansen and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Hansen of Chippewa Falls.
