Kolar, Joseph J. (4 Jan. 1924 - 16 June 2004)

ABBOTSFORD - Joseph Kolar, 80, died at his Abbotsford residence on Wednesday, June 16, 2004.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.

Joseph J. Kolar was born Jan. 4, 1924, in Dickinson, N.D., the son of Frank and Mary (Ficek) Kolar. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy as a 1st Class Seaman, from December 1943 to March 1946. He farmed in the town of Hoard, then moved to Abbotsford in 1967, where he was employed with Streckert Door Manufacturing until retiring in 1990. He also did lawn maintenance care for Abbotsford residents and businesses.

Survivors include a sister, Mary (Tom) Dvorak of Dickinson, N.D.; and a brother, Tony Kolar of Taylor, N.D.

Maurina Funeral Home of Abbotsford assisted the family with arrangements.
