Soderberg, Chester L. (17 May 1899 - 20 Apr. 1940)

Chester L. Soderberg passed away of a heart attack at his home at Medford early Saturday morning. He appeared to be in good health although he had suffered a similar attack last fall from which he had apparently recovered. He lived in Colby a number of years when he and his two brothers operated a grocery store in the building now occupied by O. H. Davis & Son.

Chester L. Soderberg was born in Thorp on May 17, 1899, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Aug. Soderberg. On Nov. 14th, 1917, he was united in marriage to Catherine Warner at Stanley. To this union were born two children. His wife departed this life in September, 1922.

Mr. Soderberg operated a car exchange at Medford at the time of his death and also was in the same business at Stetsonville and Thorp, several years ago.

He leaves to mourn his untimely demise, one daughter, Ceona L. Soderberg, and one son, Richard, of Thorp, his aged mother, Mrs. Bertia Soderberg, two brothers, Ted R. Soderberg, Marinette, and Arthur Soderberg Sr., Thorp; five sisters, Mrs. Garfield Brown, Stanley, Mrs. Otto Glasshof, Menasha, Mrs. Wm. Glasshof, Thorp, Mrs. Warren Grace, Marinette and Mrs. Esther Warner, Thorp.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Jas. Irish at the Bogumill Funeral Home at Thorp at two o’clock Monday afternoon, internment following in the East Thorp cemetery.
