Kanter, Rosalia (Marriage - 22 June 1940)

Miss Rosalia Kanter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nick Kanter, was married to Mr. Harold Baumgart, son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Baumgart, at St. Mary’s church Saturday morning, June 22, at 8:00 o’clock, Rev. L. J. Lang performing the marriage ceremony. The church was decorated with large baskets of peonies and roses.

The bride was attired in a becoming gown of white net and lace over satin, floor length, with train and finger tip veil, beaded headdress edged with lace. The sleeves were long, puffed at the shoulders coming to a point over the writst. Her bouquet consisted of white roses and swansonia.

Marie Baumgart was bridesmaid and wore a floor length dress of peach chiffon and shoulder length veil of peach. Her colonial bouquet consisted of tea roses, snapdragons and carnations.

The groom was attended by Sylvester Tesmer and both wore green suits.

A reception was given at the home of the bride’s parents for members of the immediate families, Rev. Lang and Miss Schmitz. The color scheme used for decorations was peach and white and white wedding bells. The table was decorated with a large wedding cake and candles. In the evening, a wedding dance was given at Wiedenhoeft’s pavilion.

The couple left on a wedding trip to Kansas City, Missouri, and other points of interest. They will be at home in Colby after July 1st. The groom is associated with his father in the cheese making business.
