Walter, Mary (18 JUN 1940)

An interesting wedding took place Tuesday, June 18, at 8:00 A.M. with a nuptial High Mass which united in marriage Mary Walter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Walter, Town of York to Mike Weyer, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Weyer, Loyal. The double ring ceremony was performed by Father Aloys Zinthefer in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal.

The bride wore a gown of white satin. Her tulle veil was of finger tip length. Her crown consisted of seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of white carnations and peach gladioli.

Miss Margaret Walter, sister of the bride was maid of honor. Her gown was of light blue taffeta, jacket effect with matching shoulder length veil. Her bouquet was similar to the bride’s bouquet.

Miss Coletta Weyer, sister of the groom was bridesmaid. She wore a gown of deep rose with matching shoulder veil. Her bouquet was also similar to the bride’s bouquet.

Robert Weyer, brother of the groom, and Eugene Walter, cousin of the bride were the groom’s attendants. They wore suits of green and blue.

A dinner was served at the home of the bride’s parents. Covers were laid for about 75 guests.

The house was decorated with pink, white, and blue streamers. A wedding cake was placed in the center of the table. It was made and decorated by Anna Walter, aunt of the bride.

In the evening a dance was held at the Silver Dome.

The newlyweds are at home on the groom’s farm west of Loyal.

The Tribune joins the many friends of both young people in extending Congratulations.
