Goessl, John (26 Nov. 1858 - 8 June 1941)

John Goessl died at the home of his son, Irving Goessl of Curtiss, Sunday, at the age of 82 years, a heart ailment being the cause of his death. Funeral services were conducted Thursday morning at St. Louis Catholic church at Dorchester and internment was made in the Catholic cemetery.

The deceased was born in Cooperstown, Wis., on November 26, 1858. He was one of the pioneers who helped open the Curtiss community for agriculture, coming here from Manitowoc county in 1884. He bought 80 acres of timber land which he built into a fine farm which is now operated by his son.

He was married to Anna Lange on July 7, 1884, in St. Louis Catholic church, in Dorchester, Wis. He retired from active farming in 1923 and moved to Dorchester where his wife died on April 8, 1931. Since last fall he has been living on the farm with his son, Irving. Ten grand children and five great grand children also survive.
