Patten, Corsina G. (Marriage - 22 Sept. 1941)
Miss Corsina G. Patten, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. M. Patten of Westphalia, Iowa, and Morris M. Sterzinger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sterzinger of Colby, were united in marriage at a nuptial high mass at St. Mary’s Catholic church at Colby on Monday, Sept. 22nd, at nine o’clock, Rev. Leo J. Lang officiating.
Jean Patten, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid and the groom was attended by his brother, Randall Sterzinger, as best man.
The bride was attired in a becoming tailored blue suit and brown accessories with a corsage of tea roses and swansonia. As something old, she wore a lavelier of her aunt set in pearls and amethysts and worn by her aunt over 25 years ago. The bridesmaid wore a navy blue tailored twill suit with a corsage of pink roses and swansonia.
A reception was given at the home of the groom’s parents for about 80 guests which also included the bride’s God parents, John Coenen and Mr. C. Patten, and the groom’s God parents, Mr. and Mrs. Math Allar. Out of town guests included Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Patten of Westphalia, Ia., Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Coenen of Harlan, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Eberts and Mrs. Eberts, Sr., of Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Don Lofland and son of Alexandria, Louisiana, Mr. and Mrs. Al Nikolay of Madison, Wis., Miss Aurelia Dietrich of Medford, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kleinstick of Medford, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Zahorka and family of Unity, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Parke of Athens, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Bauer and family of Abbotsford, Wis.
Mrs. Soenen, the bride’s aunt, baked and decorated the wedding cake and brought it over five hundred miles to the wedding.
The rooms were decorated with blue, pink and white streamers, in harmony with the wedding cake.
The young couple will make their home in Madison where the groom is employed.
