Kroehn, Augusta (5 July 1870 - 13 Feb. 1942)

Mrs. August Kroehn of Abbotsford died at the age of 71, Friday morning at a Wausau hospital, the result of a complication of ailments. Funeral services were conducted on Monday morning at Wausau, Rev. P. Roehrs of Wausau officiating, in the afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Christ Lutheran church, Rev. John Brandt of Dorchester officiating. Pall bearers were Henry Rau, Emil Harder and Charles Harder of Dorchester, Wis., Frank Sterzinger of Colby, Wis., and Henry Wilhelme and Fred Dietsche of Abbotsford, Wis.

Mrs. Kroehn was born in Germany on July 5th, 1870, and was married at Dorchester on May 31st, 1888, to Anton Kroehn who preceded her in death in 1932. They farmed near Dorchester until 1927, when they moved to Dorchester, Wis.

Surviving are two sons and five daughters - Paul of Black Rock, Ore., William of Milwaukee, Mrs. Charles Maresh of Rice Lake, Mrs. John Eschenbach of Wausau, Mrs. Herbert Leichtnam of Fond du Lac and Mrs. Arthur Kamke and Mrs. Arnold Braatz of Schofield. Also two sisters, Mrs. Ida Pagel of Wausau and Mrs. Erma Keene of New York City. There are eight grand children.
